Our policies:
Check-In and Accessing the Guest Suite:
Check-Out & Late Check Outs:
Gear Storage and Soiled Clothing: (fishing, hunting, ski and snowboarding): Please store wet gear and bulky equipment in the hallway outside of the unit. Special racks and shelves have been provided for this purpose.
Remove Outdoor Footwear: It is customary in Canada to remove your outdoor footwear upon entering a home. Please remove all outdoor footwear upon entering the Guest Suite.
Noise Disturbances: Quiet hour is 10 PM. Please keep noise disturbance to a minimum.
No Smoking Policy: Sorry, but absolutely no smoking is permitted anywhere inside Smithers Caribou House Guest Suite. This includes the hallways, main house, garage, doorways, etc.) We are happy to provide guests with an outside Designated Smoking Area and cigarette butt disposal. Please ensure that all guests use the Designated Smoking Area and that the door to the Guest Suite is kept closed. Unfortunately, if the Guest Suite has been smoked in, or even smells of smoke, we will need to assess the situation and a cleaning fee of $300 will be charged to the credit card used to reserve the suite.
Pets at Smithers Caribou House:
Number of Guests: the suite is limited to the number of guests registered in the suite at the time of check in. Maximum number of guests at any time is 4 individuals.
Cleaning / Damages / Lost or Stolen Items: Should housekeeping find any rooms damaged, in any way, or any lost or missing items, the Smithers Caribou House Guest Suite will charge the credit card responsible for the room for all damages, losses and/or cleanup fees. Guests are responsible for cleaning all dishes, silverware, pots, pans, and glassware they use in the suite. A $25 cleaning fee will be charged if housekeeping must wash dirty dishes.
Children: Parents and guardians are personally and legally responsible for children at all times. Please do not leave children unattended in guest suite or anywhere on the property.
Camping is not permitted on our property: the no camping rule also applies to any of your vehicles parked in our parking lot.
Designated Parking with electrical hook up: An extra long parking stall is available for our guests. Please ensure your vehicle is parked within the designated area. Electrical hookups are within easy access of your vehicle.
Negligence, Disorderly Conduct, Unlawful Activities, Repeated Noise Offenses: If a complaint occurs due to the negligence of those occupying a guest room, (disorderly conduct, unlawful activities, or repeated noise complaints), the offending guests may be evicted and/or receive additional charges to their account. If a guest is evicted, they are not entitled to any refund. If damages occur to the guest room or other areas of Smithers Caribou House, the cost of the damage will be charged to the credit card registered upon check-in.
Booking Cancellations and Early Departures
Our policies:

- Check-in is anytime after 3:00 pm.
- Key code access will be provided in advance of your arrival via email. The key code will provide guests with access to the guest suite.
Check-Out & Late Check Outs:
- Check-out is 11 AM.
- Guests still occupying the guest suite after the check out time may be charged $25 for each hour.

Pets at Smithers Caribou House:
- No Pets Inside the Guest Suite or hallways: Absolutely no pets are allowed within the unit, hallways, entrance way, etc. If you are keeping a pet inside your vehicle, please inform your Hosts. If pets have been brought inside the unit, the room will be assessed and you will be charged a minimum cleanup fee of $100
- Dogs Kenneling is Available. Please discuss in advance: Please contact us prior to your stay at the Smithers Caribou Guest House. We can discuss the suitability of kenneling your dog in our backyard. Our yard comes equipped with a large, fully insulated dog house. Electrical heater is optional. Extra fees apply.

- Daily bookings (6 or less nights): Guests must provide 24 hours cancellation/early departure notice. If less than 24 hours notice given of booking cancellation/early departure a cancellation fee of 1 night will be charged.
- Weekly bookings (7 - 29 nights): Guests must provide 48 hours booking cancellation/early departure notice. If the required notice is not given then a cancellation fee of 30% of the remaining nights booked will be charged.
- Monthly bookings (more than 30 nights): Guests must provide 14 days booking cancellation/early departure notice. If the required notice is not given then a cancellation fee of 20% of the remaining nights booked will be charged.
